The NACC is the nation's only charity dedicated specifically to enhancing legal representation in child welfare and juvenile cases. Child abuse and juvenile cases are handled in the court system, an adversarial process dependent upon quality legal representation. Neither federal, state, nor local governments insure that children and families are well represented. Parties to court proceedings who are not represented do not do well. Imagine yourself in court without legal counsel. Even well educated adults cannot speak for themselves in our court system. Now imagine you are an abused and frightened child about to enter a courtroom where the outcome may literally be a matter of life and death. The NACC helps to provide a voice to voiceless children. We are over 2500 lawyers (and court involved physicians, therapists, social workers, and lay advocates) who have dedicated our professional lives to legal advocacy for children.
